The Austrian Grand Prix weekend has not even begun, and Ferrari has already encountered a problem, particularly in the area of the garage assigned to Charles Leclerc. The mechanics were unable to remove the right rear tire from car number 16. However, this is just a consequence because the actual issue runs deeper.
Currently, there are no updates on the work being done by the team members, nor the nature of the problem. Furthermore, this has caused a delay in the entire day’s program. It remains to be seen if the Ferrari team will seek assistance from their neighbors, namely Mercedes. In fact, the Brackley-based team was involved in a similar incident during the 2021 Monaco GP when they struggled to remove the right rear wheel from Valtteri Bottas’ car during a pit stop. The car was eventually taken to the headquarters, and with the help of special tools, the tire was removed after a staggering 42 hours.
