Very difficult track conditions for everyone in the second day of the first official pre-season testing session which takes place this week at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. After overnight snow, the teams are back in very chilly conditions, as Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel got the first laps under his belt in the Maranello team’s SF71H.
Sebastian Vettel has had a quiet opening morning to his 2018, with just 29 laps, but as the session progressed he has just been posting his best time of the day so far, moving up to third with a best lap of 1:21.843. During the first part of the day, the four-time Formula One world champion used the Medium tyres, unlike Valtteri Bottas, who finished the morning session on top of the timesheets with a lap time of 1:20.270 with the Soft tyre, followed by Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) 28 laps, Hypersoft tyres – 1:20.325.
In an attempt to try and maximize running, there will be no lunch break. That means the session will run uninterrupted to 5pm GMT
