Speaking to the microphones of SkySportF1, Italian former racing driver and the 2012 GP2 Series champion, Davide Valsecchi, analyzed the Pole Position achieved by Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc in yesterday’s qualifying session for the United States Grand Prix, also sharing his thoughts on today’s Sprint Race which will take place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
According to the former driver, who is now a pundit for the well-known television broadcaster, the Maranello team can provide its fans with some satisfying moments during the weekend. Here is an excerpt of his comments.
Davide Valsecchi: “Ferrari among the absolute protagonists. And in the Sprint Race…”
“Seeing the performance they put in, Ferrari will be among the absolute protagonists of this race,” began Davide Valsecchi when asked to comment on the performance of the Maranello team on Friday – “They have shown themselves to be really strong. Charles Leclerc was remarkably precise and comfortable with the car. Probably, this is the most important factor: he feels good and is motivated for the weekend,” he added.
Finally, the former driver concluded his analysis with an observation that will please fans of the Prancing Horse: “Charles Leclerc was also clever in capitalizing on Max Verstappen’s mistake. Now, he will have to be good today to set a fast enough time to beat him again. In today’s shorter race (the Sprint Race), Ferrari might provide some entertainment, as it may not be as affected by tire degradation.” – Davide Valsecchi pointed out.
