After over one year, Scuderia Ferrari has returned to success in Formula 1, claiming the top step of the podium in the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay street circuit. This achievement is credited to a simply flawless performance by Carlos Sainz throughout the entire Singapore weekend. Italian former racing driver and the 2012 GP2 Series champion, Davide Valsecchi, discussed this, particularly emphasizing the tactical intelligence displayed by the Spanish driver during the race.
Davide Valsecchi praises Sainz: “He did everything excellently, a dominating weekend”
“He did everything excellently. He even dominated this weekend, and in the race he was undoubtedly the best,” Davide Valsecchi said in a live interview with SkySportF1 after the Singapore Grand Prix. He then observed, “In the final stages, when it mattered, he made the difference as a driver: during the race, it seemed like he was conserving – I mean mentally – and then he showed incredible clarity at a moment when they might have been struggling with the tires.” The former driver – now a television commentator – concluded his remarks by offering some words of praise for Scuderia Ferrari as well: “Congratulations to the team; they placed everything on winning, and it paid off.”
