In Formula 1, the driver market continues to move, and according to RacingNews365, Haas will announce their first driver for 2025 in a few weeks. From next season, we should see the young Briton Oliver Bearman at the wheel of an F1 car. Here are all the details.
Oliver Bearman at Haas in 2025
The possibility of Oliver Bearman stepping into Formula 1 has been rumored for some time, and the decision by Ayao Komatsu, team principal of Haas, has surprised no one. The young Briton, who this year also serves as the third driver for Scuderia Ferrari HP, has always demonstrated good speed and excellent spirit of sacrifice when given the chance to drive the car during free practice sessions.
This year at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia, he immediately seized the opportunity to race a Grand Prix with Ferrari, due to the unavailability of Carlos Sainz. After being ready and narrowly missing out in the Q3 part of the qualifying session by a few tenths, he finished the race in Jeddah in seventh position, also scoring his first career points in Formula 1.
Speaking about his home race at Silverstone, scheduled in two weeks, Oliver Bearman said: “Silverstone will definitely be crazy. There will be a lot of things to do. Last year was challenging, but besides FP1, there are many other things happening behind the scenes. It will be a busy weekend, but I am very excited for my home race. I can’t wait. It will be fantastic.” – the Ferrari junior explained.
According to RacingNews, the date of his announcement should be during the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit. If this rumor turns out to be true, during his home weekend, Ollie Bearman would become the first driver of the Haas 2025 lineup, replacing Nico Hulkenberg, who is headed to Audi next year.
