Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo has added further intrigue to Formula One’s fascinating driver market by insisting Sebastian Vettel would not veto him joining Scuderia Ferrari in the 2019 season. Daniel Ricciardo has fast become the most in-demand man on the grid after he stamped his authority on this year’s championship race with a brilliant victory in China a fortnight ago.
The 28-year-old Australian is prepared to bring the curtain down on his decade-long relationship with Red Bull if the sport’s former champions cannot provide the machinery to fight for glory. Both the Italian side, and indeed Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes team, are ready to pounce: “From a personal point of view, I don’t think Sebastian is scared,” Daniel Ricciardo admitted, as reported by Belfast Telegraph earlier today, ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix – “If I know Sebastian like I think I do, he is 100% a competitor, and lives and breathes F1. That competitor in him would love a chance for redemption after being beaten in 2014. The competitor in him will try and wipe that slate clean. He would not shy away from it.” – Daniel Ricciardo concluded.
