British former Formula One racing driver turned presenter, commentator and journalist, David Coulthard, talks about the the dynamic between Scuderia Ferrari’s drivers Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc after the start of the 2019 Formula One season:
“There are two different kinds of pressure. Sebastian has to win the championship, everything else is not good enough. Charles has it easier. He just needs to be better than Seb. But I think Seb can handle it. Sebastian is not getting any younger, but he is still a great champion, he is still very fast. Even though Charles Leclerc together with Max Verstappen may be the future of Formula 1, he is still not faster than Sebastian yet. That’s a fact.”
David Coulthard also explains the difference between the situation at Mercedes, when Nico Rosberg was driving alongside Lewis Hamilton, and Scuderia Ferrari’s current situation with Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, pointing out one very important difference related to the performance of the car: “At that time Mercedes was superior and it was clear that one of them would win regardless of what happened inside the team. For Ferrari it’s all about whether Sebastian or Charles is internally in front.” – David Coulthard explained, as reported earlier today by leading German automobile magazine Auto Bild.
