Italian businessman, sports manager and current president of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), Giovanni Malagò, talked about the news that Scuderia Ferrari and German driver Sebastian Vettel will part ways at the end of the 2020 Formula One season:
“Sebastian Vettel’s farewell came very fast and tumultuous. The love story with the German driver had started very strong, then due to some moments, some incidents and some championships lost by Ferrari, this choice, however consensual, came with zero controversy. Carlos Sainz’s choice seems to me to be in line with Maranello’s sporting policy”. This is how CONI president Giovanni Malagò comments on the news of Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel ending their partnership, in a press conference at the end of this weeks’s national council.
“At this moment Italy needs to cling to the symbols: Italian flag, the five Olympic circles, the national team and precisely Ferrari, which we hope will reverse the period without success” – Giovanni Malagò concluded, as reported by Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
