Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner reflects on the Scuderia Ferrari front wing and gives his impressions after the first three days of prea-season testing in Barcelona.
Asked to comment about the Ferrari front wing, a concept which is different from the Red Bull and Mercedes prototype, the Red Bull Team Principal explained: “We remain true to our wing type because it works best for us. Of course, we looked at the Ferrari concept, but our simulations have shown that our wing has more potential. We drove the first two days with a Montreal rear wing. Therefore, it was difficult to balance the car.”
According to leading German automobile magazine Auto motor und sport (AMuS), the recent analysis made of Red Bull Racing after the first two days of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya, which is based on GPS data, shows that Scuderia Ferrari is clearly ahead for the moment. According to these extrapolations, Mercedes is still ahead of Red Bull, but there is a reason for that: the new Red Bull RB15 still lacked important parts. According to the analysis of Red Bull, it is currently more of a battle Ferrari against Red Bull than Ferrari against Mercedes: “We see Mercedes behind both of us for the moment.” – Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner concluded, as reported by Auto motor und sport earlier today.
