The words of the home hero
“We are working on the car’s mechanics, I won’t give examples, it’s work that can also be transferred to the 2026 car.” Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur, on the eve of the Imola GP, confirmed the rumors circulating about Ferrari designing a new rear suspension — a drastic solution necessary to resolve the ride height issue that is heavily affecting the current version of the SF-25.
Recently, the British GP was indicated as a possible date for the debut of this new key component, but Charles Leclerc remained vague about the timing: “We are working hard to try to recover the performance we’ve lost to McLaren and Red Bull. It is our duty to optimize the SF-25 to return to winning in the near future. We know what improvements need to be made to the car. But I can’t tell you how long this work will take,” Charles Leclerc said in an interview with Monaco Matin on Thusrday.
“At the moment, it’s clear that things aren’t going well, there’s no point in pretending otherwise,” Charles Leclerc added. “We’re not at all satisfied with the car’s performance. Last year, Ferrari fought until the end for the Constructors’ title. At the start of the season, we aimed for the same goal. Unfortunately, we had to quickly face reality. The car was not up to the task. But our motivation remains intact.” – the Monegasque driver concluded ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend in front of his home fans.
