The Ferrari driver knows that repeating last year’s one-two finish is far from realistic, but he hopes to experience a much different weekend after the recent disappointments.
The words of the Monegasque driver
Exactly one year ago, Charles Leclerc claimed victory at the United States Grand Prix behind the wheel of the Ferrari SF-24, in what was a dominant performance by the Maranello team. Carlos Sainz completed the one-two finish, marking Ferrari’s last double before the team went on to win again in Mexico with the Spanish driver.
Looking ahead to this weekend in Austin, Charles Leclerc hopes to reverse the negative trend of recent races: “Repeating that one-two seems difficult considering our current level of performance, but we will give everything to turn the page after several challenging races. We’re all extremely motivated. The Sprint weekend could help us be more competitive, and we need to focus on every single detail. The goal is to get back on the podium.” – the Monegasque driver pointed out ahead of the United States Grand Prix weekend at COTA>
When asked about market rumors linking him to potential moves for 2027, Charles Leclerc reaffirmed his loyalty to Ferrari: “I’ve always been clear about it — I love Ferrari and I want to win in red. Of course, 2026 will be a very important year, and we need to start off on the right foot while also thinking about the following four years. I don’t pay attention to or read what’s being said or written around me.”
