The 2021 Formula 1 world title fight between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton was meant to be a once-in-a-generation occurrence: two world class drivers in equally matched cars going wheel-to-wheel seemingly race after race. Now we are only two events in the 2022 Formula 1 world championship and it’s happening again. But this time Max Verstappen main rivals seems to be Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, as the two were involved in some great battles.
For the second race running Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc went toe to toe for victory, trading the lead and playing games with each other in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. And this time the reigning champion came out on top – by just half a second.
Unlike Verstappen and Hamilton, these two haven’t collided so far. But just like it felt early in 2021, is it only a matter of time?
