Charles Horner ‘calls’ Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc in Red Bull, perhaps alongside Max Verstappen. No, this isn’t the latest twist in the Formula 1 driver market—though given what has happened in recent years, never say never. The one talking about the loyal Ferrari driver was none other than Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, during an impromptu and decidedly lighthearted interview at the recent 2025 Autosport Awards, conducted by TikToker Bella James.
The interviewer playfully reminded the Red Bull boss of some controversial remarks he made in 2022 when he stated that women are drawn to Formula 1 because of the drivers’ good looks. At the time, Horner was accused of sexism. When asked which driver he considered the most handsome on the grid, he referred to his daughter’s opinion: “My daughter would like us to sign Charles Leclerc,” he joked, “but everyone has their own charm.” – he pointed out.
The joke about Toto Wolff
Still on the topic of appearances, the 51-year-old Red Bull boss was also teased about the attractiveness of team principals: “Have you ever thought that it might be because of the team principals [that women watch F1]?” the interviewer asked, hinting at an appreciation for Toto Wolff, Charles Horner’s longtime rival. “I’m not sure about that. I’m not a member of the Toto Wolff fan club,” Charles Horner quipped.
