Telemetry analysis of the best Q3 lap times set by Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez at the Baku City Circuit:
Red Bull and Ferrari were very close here but Charles Leclerc produced an amazing lap. His middle sector is very good but also his first sector was excellent. Red Bull have the top speed advantage that could be useful in the race.
Charles Leclerc’s castle section was amazing to see: around a tenth and a half gained on Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen here with some very high apex speeds and acceleration. This shows not only his ability in nailing the last lap in Qualifying, but also his confidence with the F1-75
Talking about Max Verstappen his case is very strange: looking at the telemetry you’d say he was much faster than Perez: Verstappen loses a lot under braking, because he wants the front to turn in and has to carry less speed doing so:
