The first half of the 2021 Formula One season is now over and while the entire Scuderia Ferrari team is enjoying much deserved and needed rest, we can look back on the first phase of the championship and say that the Maranello team is on its way out of the problems which were encountered in the previous years. With Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in fifth and sixth positions in the 2021 Formula 1 Drivers’ standings so far, the Italian side has secured a strong position in the middle field, while focusing on the 2022 season, in the hope of being able to once again challenge for the top spots. In light of this situation, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc pays a compliment to his team as well as his teammate.
“I’m enjoying this season. It’s not an easy phase for the team,” Charles Leclerc began in conversation with Motorsport.com. In total, Ferrari managed to drive to the podium three times in the first half of the season.
In light of it being Carlos Sainz’ first season with Ferrari this year, Charles Leclerc sees the future as even more promising. “We are obviously trying to reconstruct everything to be back at the top as soon as possible and this is the first year with Carlos as a teammate,” said the Monegasque driver, as reported by the Italian media.
At the same time, Charles Leclerc concludes by complimenting the Spaniard, who has managed to secure a championship lead with three points, although his third place podium finish at the Hungaroring circuit is for the moment uncertain: “But it’s going very well. We are pushing each other and he is very competitive, which is great for me.” – Charles Leclerc added.
