
Despite a challenging season, Charles Leclerc used the FIA awards ceremony to reaffirm his sense of belonging to Ferrari. On the evening of Friday, December 12, 2025, the final chapter of the motorsport season took place with the FIA gala awards ceremony in Uzbekistan. Max Verstappen was absent due to the flu, preventing him from flying to Tashkent, while Charles Leclerc was present to support Ferrari’s WEC team, which was honored for winning both the drivers’ and constructors’ world titles.
During the evening, Charles Leclerc not only appeared on stage during the presentation of the FIA President’s Innovation Medal to Piero Ferrari, but also offered brief remarks about his potential interest in competing one day at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and about his pride in being part of the Ferrari family.
The pride of being a Ferrari driver
Even at the FIA ceremony, Charles Leclerc emphasized his love for Ferrari: “It’s something extremely special. Driving for Ferrari has always been my dream, and being here tonight to support our great family is incredible. Winning in WEC for them and achieving so much success in a season like this is truly amazing.”
The Monegasque driver added: “The legacy that Ferrari has left in motorsport will remain forever, and I am immensely proud to be part of it.”
Charles Leclerc also spoke about future expectations and how his WEC teammates can serve as a role model: “Now it’s up to us to live up to those expectations, just like my teammates do in Endurance. And yes, I’m really happy to be here tonight to support them.” – the Monegasque driver added.
