Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver comments and impressions ahead of the 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix at the Portimao circuit:
“Yesterday I wasn’t driving well and not been very consistent. So hopefully today I can do a better job. But I felt quite good on the race runs we have done on Friday. At the end the race is the most important. We have a pretty different strategy compared to the ones we are fighting for in the Top 10, starting on the mediums, so hopefully we can take advantage from that! I think I will manage it better than yesterday. Yesterday I just haven‘t done a great job in the car, pushing the limit in qualifying, pushing too much, overpushing a bit. In the race it should be better! I think the main overtaking will be before Turn 1. Starting on the medium is a big opportunity for us. If we manage to have a good start, the tricky part of the race for us will be the first few laps. After that we should be in a good place. Carlos has been very competitive all weekend. We have a different strategy, it‘s always good for a team to have two cars on a different strategy and that will be the case today. We are going to extract the maximum out of the car as a team. Hopefully we can have a lot of points at the end of the weekend.” – Charles Leclerc said.
