Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc comments and impressions ahead of the 2021 Spanish Grand Prix at the Ciruit de Catalunya in Barcelona:
“A good day yesterday, a good weekend overall and hopefully we can finish on a high with both cars this afternoon. The team has done an incredible job. Last year was a very difficult race for us and this year we are in a much better place. Surely we want to be fighting a bit further up, and for the win, but for now it’s a big improvement.”
“A good start will be very important. Here in Barcelona, overtaking is very difficult, so once you get the position, it is easier to defend than on other tracks. So hopefully we can have a good start and then try and keep that position. It is going to be a tricky race. I think we will see some very interesting strategies between the drivers. It’s between a one stop and two stop. We will try to choose the best one and hopefully we can have a very good result today!”
How is it going with Carlos?
“With Carlos, it is going very well. Very nice guy & especially very competitive: He is pushing me massively since the beginning of the season. It’s great to have him here. Hope he will have a good race here for his home race. By the way, it is very nice to finally see some people in the grandstand. It’s been a long time since the last time. So hopefully we can give a good show today!”
