Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc is of the opinion that new Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur strikes the right “harmony” in his leadership role within their Formula 1 squad.

The French manager joined the Maranello team at the start of the year, making the switch from Alfa Romeo to replace former Team Principal Matteo Binotto. The decision raised numerous questions about its appropriateness for the Scuderia, particularly as the team strives to launch a title challenge against Red Bull and clinch their first championship since 2008.

Fred Vasseur celebrated his inaugural victory with the Maranello team in just 15 races at the Marina Bay street circuit Singapore, where Carlos Sainz secured the win and brought Red Bull and Max Verstappen’s uninterrupted streak to a close.

“Fred is super flat emotionally, which I think is really good in the position he is in because it gives us that a little bit. I think as an Italian team, and as Ferrari, this is what I love most about Ferrari is the emotions that we feel. Whenever we are at highs and how passionate the people are, but to have this balance with Fred I think is also really good.” – Charles Leclerc explained in a recent interview ahead of the United States Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend in Austin – “To have the clear vision when things are going wrong, and also, when things are going very strong [and say] ‘But that’s not it, we still need to work very hard’, I think we kind of already had that philosophy, but I think Fred has strengthened it and that’s really good.” – the Monegasque added.

A significant portion of their efforts was dedicated to comprehending their car’s design philosophy. In the early stages of the season, they made a transition to a setup reminiscent of Red Bull’s. This strategic shift allowed them to access valuable insights into the issues plaguing their race pace. They anticipate that the knowledge gained will be instrumental in shaping the development of their 2024 Formula 1 single-seater.

“Definitely the understanding that we had in Zandvoort, especially to have that confirmed in Monza with very different characteristics at a very different track.
