During the podcast ‘Formula For Success’, which he co-hosts, former Formula1 driver David Coulthard tried to answer a tricky question about the 2025-2026 seasons: ‘Who would he support in a potential world title race between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton?’
Starting from the premise that Ferrari would need to provide the two drivers with a car much more competitive than the SF-24, the former Formula 1 driver and 2001 World Championship runner-up revealed feeling quite torn.
David Coulthard divided due to some interpersonal relationships
Here’s what he thought: “Actually, I feel quite divided,” he reportedly began, according to GPBlog – “On one hand, I have the desire to see Hamilton win his eighth championship, and on the other, to see Charles Leclerc win a world title.” – he pointed out.
Among the reasons for his indecision, the strong bond with the Monégasque: “I’m very attached to his family. The other night I met his brother Arthur, his mother cuts my hair. They are lovely and very humble people considering that Charles is currently one of the most famous drivers for one of the most prestigious teams in the world,” concluded David Coulthard.
Perhaps it’s premature to ask the fans of the Maranello team which side they would take should there (hopefully) be a need to do so, but if any of you feel you have already made a choice, you can always let us know in the comments section.
