The best driver pairing?
With the arrival of Lewis Hamilton and the reconfirmation of Charles Leclerc, Ferrari will undoubtedly have one of the best driver pairings on the grid in the 2025 Formula 1 championship, if not the best. There is curiosity about how the power dynamics between the two will play out, both in qualifying and in the race. Clearly, both are hoping to have a winning car in their hands.
Charles Leclerc’s welcome message
Since Lewis Hamilton’s signing was made official on February 1, for the past six months Charles Leclerc has been fielding questions about his future teammate. In a recent interview with Gentleman’s Journal, the Monegasque driver explained: “As a kid, spending every weekend at kart tracks, it was hard for me to follow the Formula 1 season. I would watch some races, and Lewis was definitely someone I admired.” – the Ferrari driver admitted.
Charles Leclerc then explained that he is eager to test himself against the driver with the most wins, pole positions, and Formula 1 world titles—seven, just like Michael Schumacher: “It’s going to be incredible to have Lewis on the team and, obviously, to be able to have such an incredible champion in the same team as me, with the same car. It will be an extraordinary opportunity for me as well, to prove what I am capable of.” Charles Leclerc was then asked if he will be lenient with the British driver as he gets to grips with his first new team in more than a decade: “Certainly not!” – the Ferrari driver replied with a smile on his face – “No, no, no, when I put on my helmet, none of that matters anymore. I will focus solely on my performance once I’m on the track. You change, you don’t think about who is who and you just go for it. Now I will be racing Lewis and you just have to forget a little bit the names that are inside the paddock.” – said the Monegasque, without any hint of controversy.
