Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc admits that for the Maranello team it will be difficult to fight for a podium finish at the Hungarian GP, as he previews the race which will take place this weekend at the Hungaroring:
“Last year we were also struggling on this track. This year we have a different car, hopefully the changes we made on the balance will help us but I doubt it will be a very different picture to the previous weekend. I expect it to be similar. Realistically we are struggling with the performance at the moment, so I don’t think we can consider us fighting for podiums at the moment, but we try to change that. We try to work as hard as possible to change this. This circuit is fun, even if overtaking is difficult, so I can’t wait to get back in the cockpit.” – the Monegasque driver explained.
Charles about the incident in Spielberg: “I think we put it behind us. I went directly to Seb after the race to excuse myself. I think he accepted it but now it’s behind us and on my side I focus on this weekend and try to achieve the best result possible.” – he concluded.
The first 90 minutes of free practice at the Hungaroring starts at 11 CET today, with the second session at 15. On Saturday, there’s a final hour of free practice at 12, followed by the grid-defining session at 15. The 35th Hungarian Grand Prix gets underway at 15.10 on Sunday.
