The last race weekend in the Netherlands highlighted all the worst technical deficiencies of the SF-23. Charles Leclerc particularly struggled with the setup choices made to tackle the Zandvoort circuit. After retiring in the Dutch soil, Charles Leclerc hopes for a better weekend at the Italian GP in Monza in front of the numerous fans.
Charles Leclerc places a lot of trust in the Maranello team ahead of this weekend and believes that Ferrari will be more competitive compared to the Netherlands. The driver born in ’97 didn’t finish the previous race after a contact in the early stages. This incident led to a loss of 60 points of downforce on his SF-23, making it uncontrollable on the twisty Zandvoort circuit. After such a race, the optimism of Charles Leclerc and the team cannot be considered at its best. Arriving in Monza, the fastest circuit of the championship, brings Ferrari back to the form they had in Spa, where they were the first car behind the two RB19s.
“It’s not exactly like Spa, but the characteristics of the circuit are closer to those of Spa than to those of Zandvoort and Hungary,” Charles Leclerc communicated to the media.
“Here, we should be a bit more competitive. I don’t know if it will be enough or not to reach the podium. Obviously, I hope so; we will do everything we can to achieve that.”
After a brief preview of the upcoming weekend, Charles Leclerc shared a few words about the new livery of the suits and the car.

“I like it, especially the old-school Ferrari logo is what I appreciate the most. It’s beautiful; I love it. Driving for Ferrari, we’re lucky to have support all around the world. Of course, when we come here to Italy, to Monza or Imola, the support we receive is different. I’m sure that will motivate the whole team. I can’t wait to get on the track and achieve a great result this weekend,” Charles Leclerc concluded ahead of the Italian Grand Prix.
