Charles Leclerc has explained the amusing DJ mishap that became one of the most widely shared moments from Ferrari’s huge fan event in Milan ahead of the 2026 Italian Grand Prix. The Monegasque accidentally triggered a loud sound while experimenting with Peggy Gou’s DJ equipment, catching both the internationally known DJ and Lewis Hamilton by surprise.
The incident came during the Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% Drive to Monza event at Palazzo Reale in central Milan on Wednesday evening. More than 26,000 supporters from Italy and abroad attended as Leclerc and Hamilton appeared together during Ferrari’s major pre-Monza fan gathering in Milan.
Charles Leclerc explains Peggy Gou DJ mishap
One of the lighter moments of the evening unfolded when Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton made their way to the DJ console during Peggy Gou’s performance. Leclerc’s curiosity quickly got the better of him as he started examining the controls while standing alongside the DJ and his Ferrari team-mate.
The experiment did not go quite as planned. The Ferrari driver pressed one of the controls and suddenly produced a loud sound through the system. Peggy Gou and Hamilton instinctively covered their ears, adding to the comedy of the moment as Leclerc realised that his intervention had not produced the result he intended.
The unexpected scene quickly attracted attention beyond the event itself, with footage spreading across social media as fans shared the reactions of all three people at the console.
Leclerc admits DJing may not be his next career
Charles Leclerc was given the opportunity to revisit the incident during media day at Monza when a reporter from F1inGenerale asked whether he might be tempted to try DJing again following his brief appearance alongside Peggy Gou.
Leclerc responded in typically light-hearted fashion, explaining that he had allowed an impulsive thought to take over and had probably pressed the wrong button. After the unintended result, he acknowledged that DJing was probably not for him at this stage.
The episode added a relaxed off-track moment to an otherwise intense week for the Ferrari driver, whose attention now turns fully towards the Italian Grand Prix and the challenge of delivering in front of the Tifosi. The Milan appearance had already provided an early taste of the atmosphere awaiting Ferrari at Monza, with Leclerc and Hamilton receiving a huge reception from supporters before heading to the circuit.
