Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc interview about working with Sebastian Vettel at the Maranello team in the last two years and with Carlos Sainz starting with the next season:
“I have learned massively [from Seb]. The amount of work he is putting in and how much he goes into details in absolutely everything he does is extremely impressive. I have learned a lot from that. Surely [I will miss him next year]. He is a great person. As a driver, he is amazing. The world championship titles he has won are showing that by themselves. Obviously from his driving style, he has a lot of experience. Seb knows exactly what to do with the car, with the tools he has in the car and with all that, I have improved massively for sure!”
“Next year I have Carlos next to me and I am also excited to have him by my side because obviously every time you are changing teammates, it is always interesting to see how that teammate works. And you always learn from your teammate.” – Charles added.
About the differences from last season: “I think I did quite a significant step compared to last year! Last year I was taking it very easy in FP1/FP2/FP3 to then go all in quali and this year I go all in from FP1 to the race. Every lap I do, I try to be on the limit and I take risks all the time. I feel like this new approach helped me to perform at my best! I’ve never had fear and I still feel absolutely no fear when I am in the car. The day I start to feel fear, then I will stop racing because then I won’t be able to perform at my best.”
