Less than two months until the Italian Grand Prix
Monza is heading towards the future, as expressed by the poster unveiled today, which will accompany the communication campaign for the 94th Pirelli Italian Grand Prix Formula 1, scheduled at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza from September 1st to 3rd. The Monza circuit stands out in the Formula 1 World Championship for its record-breaking average speeds, earning the nickname ‘Temple of Speed’. The 2023 GP will be another chapter in a hundred-year history, with the majority of it featuring the constant presence of Formula 1 on the calendar, from 1950 to the present, with the exception of 1980.
Created by the ACI (Automobile Club d’Italia), the poster – always a collector’s item – traditionally represents a milestone in the communication campaign leading up to the September GP. The graphic elements perfectly synthesize the glorious past, the exciting present, and the thrilling future of the circuit, a future made even brighter by the significance and quality of the modernization works that will ensure Formula 1 will continue to call Monza home for many more championships.
Some iconic structures of the Autodromo Nazionale stand out, such as the podium – which, since 2002, extends onto the track like an open hand reaching out to the crowd that invades the circuit (a tradition born right here in Monza) – and the observation tower, a symbol of research and innovation, two fundamental elements that have always been part of the circuit’s DNA.
The two towers, located on the main straight, were built in 1955 along with the High-Speed Ring, serving to inform the public about the race progress through an avant-garde – for that time – illuminated scoreboard. Since 1997, they have been transformed into coveted hospitality areas.

The poster also features the pit building, one of the most modern structures of the facility: a highly flexible structure greatly appreciated by the most demanding enthusiasts, destined for further evolution in the coming years. However, what catches the eye is the number 16 Ferrari, driven by Charles Leclerc: the Monegasque driver has already experienced what it means to win the home Grand Prix for the Prancing Horse. His car in the foreground is a red siren that captivates fans, enticing them towards the track. By his side, on the right, is the livery of a Red Bull that has dominated the championship so far, with Max Verstappen on track for a third world title. On the left is Aston Martin – the true surprise of the year – through which Fernando Alonso, at 41 years old, is experiencing a second youth. The cars appear to be racing down the main straight, giving the impression of the incredibly high speeds at Monza: the unofficial speed record belongs to Juan Pablo Montoya who, in 2002, driving a BMW-powered Williams, reached 372.4 km/h.
