A third pole position on home soil for the Monegasque driver of the Red team. Charles Leclerc secured the pole position in the Monaco GP qualifying and now hopes to achieve the first podium finish of his career in the Principality.
In the past, number 16 hasn’t been able to capitalize on his qualifying performances. From a car failure in 2021 to a wrong strategy in 2022, Leclerc hopes to manage the race on a track that typically doesn’t offer many overtaking opportunities.
Leclerc Rallies Ahead of the Race
Interviewed at the end of the Monaco GP qualifying, Charles Leclerc shared his emotions. “The feelings after a qualifying lap on this track are always special,” said the Red team driver. “I’m really happy with my lap, even though, given the past, I know that a good qualifying isn’t enough. Now we are a stronger team and in a stronger position. For this reason, I believe we can do great things tomorrow.”
Charles Leclerc then praised the work done by Carlos Sainz, who finished third in the session. “It will be important to start well and I hope Carlos can do the same. If we can be first and second, it will be easier to manage the race as we want,” concluded the local hero.
Since Thursday, Leclerc has spoken about victory as the goal; now he just needs to do everything perfectly to achieve his dream.
