A weekend to forget
Charles Leclerc started from 8th place in the Miami GP and finished 7th, ahead of Carlos Sainz, benefiting from a favorable neutralization during the Safety Car period to make his pit stop.
The Ferrari driver then allowed his teammate Lewis Hamilton to pass on the team’s instructions but regained the position at the end, as Lewis Hamilton, on medium tires, didn’t show a much faster pace compared to Leclerc, who had hard tires.
“I don’t know what Lewis wanted, but I don’t blame him. The goal for both of us is to maximize the result,” Charles Leclerc said to Canal+ microphones. “In any case, I don’t think I discussed much before letting him pass. Today, there is a lot of frustration, but there are things better discussed only with the team,” he added to Sky Sport, emphasizing that he didn’t want to talk publicly about the radio exchanges that occurred during the race. “It’s a very difficult Sunday. I tried to open the radio as little as possible. I was very angry. Here in Miami, we were less competitive than in the previous three races, and we need to understand why. I will believe until the end and give it my all until the end. But we obviously need to improve the car because right now, we’re not there.”
