Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc will line up in third and fifth places respectively in the SF90s on the grid for the 49th Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix, which starts tomorrow at 15.10.
In the top ten shoot-out, Sebastian did two runs on two sets of tyres, while Charles had to wait for repairs to be carried out on his car, doing two timed laps on the same set of tyres. Vettel posted a 1’16”272, but did not improve on his second run. Charles did a 1’16”613 and then got down to a 1’16”588.
Charles Leclerc:
“I am not very happy. On the other hand I mean Q2 I don’t really understand how I could loose that much on the kerb. I did not expect it. I got a little bit of understeer but I kept it flat thinking that it would be all fine. Unfortunately when we broke quite a lot and had to stop again. Its funny for me because the balance in Q3 was quite strange for me. We have to check the car and see if everything is fine. But it would not change anything Mercedes were simply faster than us today and that is it.”
