In the view of German former racing driver Ralf Schumacher, Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc already has a substantial advantage in the fight against seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. When they become teammates next year, according to the former German driver, the Monegasque could have the upper hand over the Englishman if a particular condition arises.
The Italian side has chosen to pair Lewis Hamilton with Charles Leclerc from the 2025 Formula 1 season. This choice has raised doubts about the coexistence of the seven-time world champion and the Monegasque, who grew up with the Maranello team. The risk that Lewis Hamilton could overshadow Charles Leclerc is high, and this could certainly create some problems within the Maranello team.
No one can really predict who will come out on top between the two, but there is already speculation about how their coexistence might unfold. Speaking about the new and future Ferrari duo is Ralf Schumacher, who cannot refrain from commenting on the latest driver market madness.
“When Lewis Hamilton moves to Ferrari, he will try to be the number one in the team, but I think he will have to fight for it because Charles Leclerc has been there for a long time. However, the most important thing is what the drivers want,” says the brother of the seven-time world champion and Scuderia Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher.

“Lewis needs a stable car, while Charles can easily drive an unstable car, and he has already proven it extensively. It remains to be seen who will prevail, but with an unstable car, Charles can have significant advantages because he is already used to driving one,” Ralf Schumacher adds.
“The next season will be very complicated for both Scuderia Ferrari and Mercedes, but it can be a decisive season for the future. We will see what happens, considering that both teams will have a driver who will leave at the end of the season,” concluded the former German driver.
