What are your thoughts during a 300mph accident, like Bottas and Russell at Imola?
Charles Leclerc: “You get your adrenaline pumping and react accordingly. I don’t think one is more guilty than the other.”
How much is a good driver worth in terms of lap time?
Charles Leclerc: “Between the best and the worst on the grid there will be half a second.”
If you were to bet an euro on Hamilton or Verstappen for the F1 champion of 2021, who would you choose?
Charles Leclerc: “Max Verstappen. Red Bull has improved and seems to be ahead of Mercedes. And Max is capable of winning because he is a great talent.”
Why did you sign with Ferrari until 2024?
Charles Leclerc: “I believe in the project. I know how we are working and I know the potential inside the team. After 2020, we put everything together again and returned by being more competitive. The technical project adds to the history and the honour of racing in this team. I want to bring Ferrari back to victory.”
Are you happy with the way the season started?
Charles Leclerc: “Yes, I think I have done a good job, fast in qualifying and fourth (Imola) in the race!”
Expectations for Portimão?
Charles Leclerc: “I think it will be similar to Imola. Very close fight with McLaren and Alpha Tauri.”
