Charles Leclerc received immediate encouragement from his race engineer Bryan Bozzi after securing fourth place in the Sprint Race at the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix. Just as the Monegasque driver crossed the finish line at Spa-Francorchamps, Bryan Bozzi came on the radio to offer a positive message, motivating Leclerc and directing full team focus toward the upcoming qualifying session. The Ferrari team, based in Maranello, is now aiming to fight for a front-row grid position by challenging the two McLaren cars and the ever-dominant Max Verstappen.
Everything during the Sprint unfolded largely as expected. Charles Leclerc started from fourth position on the grid, lining up on the second row. He made excellent use of the powerful slipstream effect on the long Kemmel Straight to overtake Lando Norris during the early stages of the race. However, it quickly became clear that maintaining that third place would be a difficult task. The number 16 Ferrari simply lacked the pace to keep up with the leading pair. After a few laps, Lando Norris managed to reclaim the final spot on the provisional podium, overtaking Leclerc and pulling away.
From that point on, Charles Leclerc found himself in a solitary race — not close enough to catch the frontrunners, but comfortably ahead of the chasing pack. In particular, the Monegasque driver maintained a solid gap over Esteban Ocon, who was running just behind in his Haas.
Despite the somewhat uneventful nature of the Sprint from Leclerc’s position, the 15-lap race offered Ferrari a valuable opportunity to gather meaningful data. It marked the first real test of their revised rear suspension setup under proper race conditions. The data collected will be crucial for fine-tuning the car’s performance as the team prepares for the all-important qualifying session later in the day.
Ferrari engineers now have the chance to make significant setup changes between the Sprint and qualifying, aiming to deliver a car capable of competing for top grid positions — both for this afternoon’s session and for Sunday’s full Grand Prix.
Immediately after the chequered flag, race engineer Bryan Bozzi sent an upbeat and motivational radio message to Charles Leclerc, acknowledging the points secured and shifting attention to what lies ahead. Bryan Bozzi said: “Good points, Charles… we’ll try to improve for this afternoon’s qualifying.”
The brief but uplifting message underlined Ferrari’s confidence and determination to extract more performance from the SF-25 in the next sessions. With Spa-Francorchamps offering multiple overtaking opportunities and unpredictable weather often playing a role, a strong qualifying result could be crucial for Leclerc’s ambitions to return to the podium in the main race.
