After Carlos Sainz’s race in Azerbaijan ended due to a hydraulic problem, Scuderia Ferrari’s day got even worse as Charles Leclerc retired with engine failure. That makes it a double DNF for Ferrari and a weekend they will want to forget.
Today’s engine failure means that Charles Leclerc has a second DNF in three races. Needless to say, the Monegasque driver was emotional right now.
“It’s hard to find the words, it hurts! I lost power. I don’t know what happened. I did not talk to anyone yet [to know more]. I’ll try my best to win the next one. The motivation will stay the same, no problem in that, but yeah it hurts..” – Charles Leclerc said in his first interview after the unfortunate incident at the Baku City Circuit.
“Reliability? In the last three races, it’s been a problem. I don’t know what to say. It hurts. I can’t find the right words. Now that’s three races in the lead where I can’t finish well. We cannot ignore these lost points. They are another 25 points gone. We didn’t have any problems at the start of the season, but now we have a bit more. It’s difficult to understand. We didn’t change anything. We really need to look into that. I don’t find the right words to describe. It’s very very disappointing.” – Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc concluded.
