Charles Leclerc has signed a renewal with Ferrari. He did it some time ago, although the official announcement is yet to be made. The Monegasque talent has never shown interest in changing teams. His love for the Prancing Horse is well-known, and on every occasion, even during the lowest points of the 2024 racing campaign, he has never missed a chance to reaffirm it. This is a fact, evident to everyone.
For this reason, various theories suggesting that the former Alfa Romeo driver was considering other offers were mere “nonsense.” News created ad hoc to sell newspapers, gather views, and attract attention. After all, this is a dynamic quite present in the media world; there is nothing new about it, and we can safely define it as almost routine. However, the truth had to be reiterated once again. We did that.
Simultaneously, Carlos Sainz’s renewal has also arrived. The “whims” of the Spaniard have run their course. Rightly, at least putting oneself in his shoes, Carlos demanded contractual parity to be considered as much as his more decorated teammate. Not at the monetary level. The Spaniard, to be as clear as possible, hoped to sign a new agreement with the team where he would not be considered the number 2.
However, the Maranello team made a very clear decision to make Charles feel as comfortable as possible. They decided to finally put him at the center of the project. This means that the 26-year-old Monegasque is the number 1 driver, and in terms of technical aspects, setup, and updates, in line with what the engineers deem appropriate, Leclerc’s feedback will have a much greater influence than Sainz’s.
Charles Leclerc, Ferrari Renewal: The Most Important Contract of His Career
The age is right. In full maturity, Charles approaches a context that could potentially be glorious. The renewed marriage with Ferrari has a specific purpose: to bring the title back to Via Abetone Inferiore 4. There is no room for failure anymore. A new work structure is being built for this very reason. We are not talking about machinery or new technologies but fresh and factual human resources.

A measure aimed at maximizing the existing facilities in GES and at the same time bolstering technical knowledge to make the efforts exerted effective. In all this, Charles will have a significant say. An important responsibility because, although without a competitive car in F1, you cannot win, it is true that a driver can and must undoubtedly lead a team not only when holding the steering wheel of the car.

Charles Leclerc’s multi-year commitment comes precisely for this reason. Red Bull, for example, did the same with Max Verstappen in times not so distant. They placed him at the center of the project, supporting him in every detail, giving him the opportunity to grow and work to mitigate his flaws. In return, Milton Keynes worked to add a figure to the already very high value of the current reigning world champion. Making the Dutchman a sort of living extension of the team, in practice.
In such a work status, it is self-evident how trust increases, and the aforementioned responsibility with which Charles has finally been entrusted can only serve to empower the talent of the Prancing Horse. On the other hand, his biggest dream since childhood was precisely this: to forever or almost forever link his name to Ferrari by accomplishing something amazing. To bind himself inextricably to triumph with the most important team in the history of F1.
Charles Leclerc, Ferrari Renewal: The Relationship with Frederic Vasseur Makes the Difference
Ferrari needs Leclerc much more than Charles needs the Italian team. The statement that opens the third section of the article is not “new.” We have heard it repeatedly, and in part, especially at this moment, it can undoubtedly be considered true. However, one fact should be considered. It concerns the current possibilities that the Ferrari driver could assess because other available seats more competitive than the one he occupies, as of now, did not exist.
This does not mean that having other viable options would have increased the chances of leaving. Nevertheless, reasoning, as it were, on how the absence of competitive paths would have pushed “our man” towards a risky and probably unproductive triple somersault into the void, clarifying this point, there is another aspect that undeniably made Charles’ stay in Maranello much more straightforward: Frederic Vasseur.
Charles Leclerc deeply respects the manager from France. His relationship with the French technician is light-years away from that fostered with Mattia Binotto during the previous tenure. Although the relationship with the bespectacled engineer could certainly be defined as good, the empathy and trust that Charles feels towards the Frenchman are incomparable. A factor that, naturally, is capable of making a lot of difference in a driver’s mind at a motivational level.
The first technical step in this direction came in the second part of the 2024 Formula One season when Ferrari, anticipating the near future, decided to firmly focus on the Monegasque, following his advice on the development path of the SF-23. This aspect did not take long to emerge on the track, where Charles Leclerc was able to optimize performance beyond the mere achievable result. This is to the chagrin of the nonetheless excellent Carlos Sainz, who from now on will have to adapt to this new condition.
In the final analysis, one fact: speculating on hypothetical astronomical figures and clauses in Charles Leclerc’s contract doesn’t make much sense for now. First of all, the information is top secret, at least for the moment. Second, as far as we are concerned, the situation that really matters concerns the common goal that Ferrari and Leclerc, together, have once again decided to pursue: erase the word “losing” from the future vocabulary.
