After the disastrous 2020 Formula 1 season, in which Ferrari was nowhere close to the top positions, the Maranello team’s fans can be satisfied with the improvements seen in the championship that is ending in Abu Dhabi this weekend, where the Italian team is the great favorite to take third place in the Formula 1 Constructor Standings, with a gap of 38.5 points ahead of McLaren-Mercedes. The hope for Ferrari is now focused on the 2022 season, when the Italian side is confident it can once again fight for more ambitious goals, given the fact that the technical revolution of 2022 will provide the team headed by Mattia Binotto with concrete opportunities to reduce the wide gap that currently separates it from Mercedes and Red Bull.

“Considering all the bad luck with Monaco and Budapest, where we lost significant points, I feel like we have had a good year. Especially in the race, I’ve been working very hard last year and this year to compromise a bit quali and put a bit more importance on race day. I think I have found quite a nice balance. Sometimes I overdid it a little bit on Saturday, having a bad quali, but very good races on Sunday. Overall I am improving as a driver. P5 is the best we could do in the drivers, it is up to us to do the best job to keep it. Hopefully with P5 in the drivers and P3 in the Constructors it will be a positive year, and it will make me confident that we can do a good enough job to come back and win next year.” – Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc said, ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
