Charles Leclerc responds to Ferrari president’s call
The Las Vegas Grand Prix is the first event on the F1 calendar following Ferrari President John Elkann’s appeal for drivers to “talk less and focus more on driving.”
Charles Leclerc was naturally asked about John Elkann’s words during the customary pre-race interviews. “I’ve known John for many years, we talk regularly, we have a great relationship, and of course I spoke with him after those statements,” said Charles Leclerc. “John is very ambitious, as are we all. We share the same priorities and give our maximum effort to bring Ferrari back to the top. The best thing I can do is keep giving my best to return the team I love to the top of the standings.”
“I don’t think Lewis Hamilton is struggling to integrate within the team,” Charles Leclerc added. “Clearly, the start of the season was difficult, but it was for everyone because expectations were high. We are all united in bringing Ferrari back to the top. Why did John Elkann make those comments publicly and not privately? John wants the best, and he chose to deliver this message in that way. I spoke with him, and that’s what matters to me. All the different interpretations of his words are out of my control, and I have no intention of wasting time on that. What matters is what he told us as a team to improve our performance, which is our priority.” – the Monegasque driver concluded ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend.
