Charles Leclerc has opened up in an emotional and deeply personal interview on the podcast “Passa dal BSMT”, hosted by Gianluca Gazzoli. During the conversation, when reflecting on the most meaningful moments of his Formula 1 career, the Ferrari driver paid tribute to his late father Hervé, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 54 after a long illness, as well as to Jules Bianchi, his close friend and considered by Charles Leclerc as an older brother figure, who tragically died in 2014 following a racing accident after spending nine months in a coma.
The Monaco-born driver spoke openly about how these personal losses continue to shape his motivation and emotional connection to racing, especially when competing for Ferrari in Formula 1.
The words of Leclerc
“The best moments? I would probably choose two,” Charles Leclerc said, visibly emotional. “Definitely the win in Monaco. It was what my father and I had always dreamed of: achieving it in Formula 1 with Ferrari made it something truly special. In a way, I am certain that Jules and my father are watching everything from above. That is something I have always told myself. It is also one of my motivations: to keep making them smile from above.”
He then continued by highlighting another defining moment in his personal life.
“The second moment is my wedding, a very special day for my entire family.”
For Charles Leclerc, both achievements go beyond sport and results, representing a deep emotional link between his personal journey, his loved ones, and his career in Formula 1 with Ferrari.
