The first stage of qualifying session at Zandvoort puts the Monegasque driver from Ferrari on the edge. Charles Leclerc manages to secure a spot in Q2 of the Dutch Grand Prix by the skin of his teeth. He squeezes through with a pass to Q2 in the nick of time, edging out by just 48 milliseconds. At the end of the lap, a frustrated team radio message is directed towards the pit wall.
Charles Leclerc spoke at the end of Q1, saying, “For fuck sake it, let’s focus on the traffic!” He exclaimed, “Traffic is the most important thing, the timing, always!” In the team radio communication, he expressed his frustration over traffic-related issues that arose during the Q1 phase in the Netherlands.
“It’s important!” He emphasized vehemently to the pit wall and his race engineer Xavi Marcos. “This is the only priority we have. We need to focus on that, and everything will be fine. Otherwise, we’ll be out in Q2!” The driver of the Prancing Horse concluded, clearly annoyed, at the end of Q1 of the Dutch GP.
The 1997-born Monegasque driver later managed to qualify for Q2 to proceed to Q3, securing a solid fifth position. Charles Leclerc’s team radio message represents yet another “tense” episode in the communication exchanges between the Monegasque driver and the Ferrari pit wall.
