It was quite the qualifying session in Saudi Arabia. Lewis Hamilton out in Q1 as the seven-time world champion struggled for pace in his Mercedes. We then had a near hour-long delay after Mick Schumacher had a huge crash in his Haas at Turn 12. He’s been taken to hospital for precautionary checks but immediate medical assessments showed no physical issues.
In Q3, Sergio Perez produced a stunning lap to leapfrog the Ferrari cars and secure his first pole in 215 F1 races. Here is Charles Leclerc post-qualifying interview:
