Charles Leclerc finishes again in third place
Charles Leclerc’s 2024 season ended with another podium finish. The look on the Monegasque’s face after the Abu Dhabi race, as always, perfectly represented his mood: he is a guy who cannot hide his emotions, and even the pat on the back from a piece of F1 history like Lewis Hamilton could not comfort #16 after the failure to achieve the feat needed to secure the Constructors’ Championship.
“I believe in miracles,” Charles Leclerc had said after qualifying on Saturday. Yes, Charles Leclerc truly believed, and both the images from the podium and the comment he posted shortly after on his social media confirm this.
Charles Leclerc’s comments
These are Leclerc’s words: “The 2024 season ended with a third place in the Drivers’ Championship and a second place in the Constructors’ Championship. We came so close to achieving our ultimate goal, and losing the championship in the last race is hard to accept.” Like all Ferrari fans, #16 accepts the outcome of the track with frustration. However, he sees room for a bright future: “I am very proud of what we have achieved as a team this year. We turned a difficult start to the season into a great fight for the Constructors’ title until the last lap of the last race. Winning in Monaco and Monza has always been a dream of mine, and this year we managed to win both. It’s something I will remember forever.”
The Monegasque could only end the post with thanks, especially to Carlos Sainz. Despite some tensions between them, their relationship was built on deep mutual respect: “Thank you for being a fantastic teammate and for always pushing me to improve. It has been an honor to fight alongside you for Ferrari.” Finally, a promise to the fans: “Thank you to all of you who supported me throughout the year, in both the good and the bad times. Our moment will come, I am sure of it. We will work hard to prepare for the next season, and we will try again.”
