Charles Leclerc secured third place in the Miami Sprint race, delivering another strong result for Ferrari in a competitive short-format contest. The Monegasque driver played an important role at the start, engaging in close battles with Kimi Antonelli, before later attempting a late-race challenge on Oscar Piastri. However, the move for second place ultimately did not succeed.
Despite missing out on the runner-up position, the improvements on the SF-26 were clearly visible throughout the Sprint. Leclerc also took a moment to thank the staff in Maranello for their hard work in developing the latest upgrade package during the recent factory development period.
Charles Leclerc’s comments
“The upgrades have worked very well thanks to the team that did an exceptional job during this month-long break. I am satisfied, but not with third place. McLaren has brought a significant update and has made a big step forward. But we are not far away, if we build a good lap in qualifying tomorrow in the race we can fight it out,” Charles Leclerc concluded.
Attention now turns to qualifying, scheduled for 22:00 this evening, where Ferrari will aim to convert its improved race pace into stronger starting positions for the main Grand Prix weekend in Miami.
