When you come to race in Brazil, it’s impossible not to think of Ayrton Senna. The Brazilian legend wrote important pages in Formula 1 history, remaining indelible in the memory of fans and inspiring many young drivers. One of them is Charles Leclerc, who, before hitting the track for the Brazilian Grand Prix, paid a visit to the Senna Foundation. Here, he had the opportunity to admire some of the items that belonged to Ayrton, his absolute idol.
Charles Leclerc’s Emotion
The Monegasque driver truly appreciated this special visit, and even in the press conference, he wanted to emphasize the beauty of the moment.
“Ayrton is the one and only idol I’ve had,” the Ferrari driver declared. “The foundation and the family invited me to the foundation in São Paulo. I had the chance to see the car he raced with and some of the helmets he used. It was truly very emotional.”
Charles Leclerc also wanted to highlight how the Senna family gave him a fantastic treatment in Brazil. “The family welcomed me in the best way. Viviane [Ayrton’s sister, editor’s note] told me many interesting stories about the helmets and the cars. It was definitely a very special moment for me.”
The Monegasque driver also expressed his gratitude for the experience on social media. Through a post, Charles Leclerc stated, “My one and only idol. A truly special moment. A huge thanks to Viviane, Lalalli, and the Senna Foundation for inviting me to such a special place.”
