After the second event of the 2025 Formula 1 season, the Chinese Grand Prix, a piece of history of the red team, with the prancing horse logo and headquarters in Maranello, is rewritten. Charles Leclerc rewrites Ferrari’s records, reaching and surpassing great legendary names who have raced for the same Scuderia during its 75 years in the highest competition of four-wheel motorsport.
With his arrival in Italy in 2019, the Monegasque driver became one of the 79 drivers who have competed in at least one Grand Prix wearing red. It’s what everyone would dream of in their racing career. The Ferrari team is certainly the most attractive for various reasons. First and foremost because of its history, having participated in every edition of the world championship, but also because of the passion of the employees and the millions of fans spread around the world.
“Being Ferrari” has almost become a true religion. For this reason, when you step onto the track with that car, regardless of the results achieved, you are still part of history. And Charles Leclerc is certainly one of the protagonists of this story. What has made him enter the hearts of all fans is one thing: the Monegasque’s love for the Prancing Horse.
In all the statements he has made, Charles Leclerc emphasizes how what he is living is what he has always dreamed of since his karting days. He wants to win his first driver’s world title with Ferrari, bringing the team back to the top of the world after almost 20 years of pause. And today, crossing the finish line of the Chinese GP in fifth place, he has rewritten history.
Charles Leclerc rises to the top of the Ferrari drivers’ points standings, having scored more points throughout his career in red. With 1,409 total points, he surpasses the record of Sebastian Vettel, who stopped at 1,400 in 2020. Who makes up the list? Obviously, legendary names who have triumphed, some more and some less, in red.
In third place is Fernando Alonso, followed by Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher. It should be noted, however, that over the years the scoring systems and, especially, the number of races per season have changed, increasingly growing. It’s easier today to reach certain results, breaking historical records of the past.
