Last track action of the 2022 season for Scuderia Ferrari, which today formally concluded the sporting season that saw the Maranello team return to second place in the Drivers’ and Constructors’ standings for the first time since the 2018 championship.
Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc was the one who hit the Fiorano race track for the last day of the Pirelli testing session after yesterday it was the turn of Carlos Sainz to get the last taste of driving the Ferrari F1-75 car.
The two Maranello drivers took turns in the car yesterday and today to test the wet Pirelli tires that the Italian company will bring for the teams in the 2023 Formula 1 season. The day on the Fiorano track was cold and characterized by mostly cloudy skies , but this didn’t stop the working programme of Scuderia Ferrari and Pirelli, who sent Charles Leclerc out on the track for several runs, both in the morning and in the afternoon, testing both the intermediate and extreme wet tyres.
At this point, the next appointments for the Maranello team will be on the calendar in 2023, obviously waiting for Ferrari to officially announce the name of the new team principal, after Mattia Binotto will be leaving the team at the end of the year.
