In Brazil, Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc couldn’t even start from the front row at the Grand Prix due to a technical problem that knocked him out during the formation lap at the Interlagos circuit. The Monegasque driver is still without victories in the 2023 Formula One championship, and the Las Vegas Grand Prix could be a significant opportunity for him to return to the top step of the podium.

So far this season, the only team to win outside of Red Bull has been Scuderia Ferrari, with Carlos Sainz in Singapore. In that weekend, Charles Leclerc ‘lost’ the chance to compete for victory in qualifying, making a mistake in the final sector that cost him not only the pole position but also the front row, with the Ferrari driver starting third behind his Maranello teammate Carlos Sainz and George Russell.

Las Vegas could once again catch the missile-like Red Bull RB19 off guard. Therefore, for Charles Leclerc, as for all the other competitors, especially McLaren drivers, the upcoming weekend could truly be a great opportunity to shake things up in the gambling city.

Contrary to expectations, Charles Leclerc is curious to experience the track in person: “When I got into the simulator to try the track, I wasn’t enthusiastic after seeing the layout on paper. However, once I got ‘behind the wheel,’ the circuit surprised me positively. I can’t wait to try it in person; there are several points where braking is combined, and it won’t be easy to avoid front lock-ups. Can this weekend be a great opportunity for us? Let’s see, on paper, yes, but I think it will be a truly special weekend, especially in terms of the temperatures, which will be quite cold, and we will all have to deal with this aspect. I really like street circuits, and Las Vegas should be more compatible with the characteristics of our car compared to the recent races.” – the Scuderia Ferrari driver said on media day, ahead of the track action on the Las Vegas street circuit.
