Ferrari, Leclerc: “I love Singapore and I hope to win. Tough season, head to 2026”
The difficult weekend in Baku was yet another setback in Ferrari’s disappointing 2025 campaign. Despite the expectations going into the event, the Scuderia once again failed to maximize its potential and perform as hoped, wasting one of the final opportunities to secure a victory this season. In short, it was a three-day event that did not put Charles Leclerc and Ferrari on the right path to approach the final part of the championship with confidence, nor to lay solid foundations for 2026. As has often been the case this year, very little has worked as planned for Maranello. Although the Monegasque driver has consistently extracted the maximum from the car, even in Azerbaijan the final outcome was below expectations, partly due to his qualifying mistake that compromised the Grand Prix.
Singapore: last chance?
The next stop is Singapore, where Ferrari and Charles Leclerc hope to turn the page. At Marina Bay, where the driver from Monaco arrived early for commercial commitments, the Scuderia aims to deliver a strong qualifying performance and perhaps replicate Carlos Sainz’s victory in 2023, which was the team’s only win that season. During these events, Charles Leclerc spoke about Ferrari’s difficult year and the upcoming race. He admitted to The Straits Times: “It has been a difficult season. I don’t think we have been where we wanted to be. I am very satisfied with my performances and I can’t wait to bring Ferrari back to the top and to winning again. I hope that can already happen this weekend in Singapore: it is a track that I love, one of my favorites. I really enjoy street circuits and having the walls so close is always a challenge for drivers, but one that I really like.”
Focus on 2026
Given the course of the 2025 season, both Ferrari and Charles Leclerc know how difficult it will be to achieve satisfying results. This is why attention is already turning to the 2026 campaign and the many challenges that the new regulations will bring. Charles Leclerc explained: “I definitely see a great opportunity for us drivers and for the teams. There will be many changes and it is up to us to start this new cycle on the right foot. I always try to work as much as possible to be ready, both physically and mentally. I will keep pushing and improving every single year: this has always been my approach and it will not change.” – the Monegasque driver concluded.
