Carlos Sainz commented on the new SF-24 and shared the feelings he has, knowing that 2024 will be his last season with Scuderia Ferrari. He also made a big promise to Charles Leclerc.
After the presentation of the SF-24, the 2024 race car, one of our correspondents had the opportunity to attend the Ferrari press conference with selected media, including F1ingenerale, where statements were made by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The Spanish driver had the chance to talk about the upcoming season and his future away from the red team, along with an important promise to Charles Leclerc.
“In these days, I have received so many messages for this season and for my future, and I am very happy about it. We have talked a lot with the engineers lately, and we are definitely ready to start this season,” immediately admitted the driver with the number 55.
“First of all, I want to say that I am a great privilege and it is an honor for me to be part of Ferrari’s history. Everyone wants to be drivers for this team, and I can say that I have been here. I had the chance to get pole positions, podiums, and I have also won. I cannot be anything but happy; I will always be a driver who raced for Ferrari.” – the Spaniard admitted.
“We have worked to make the car better than last year, so that it is strong not only in qualifying but also capable of pushing in the race. The feelings are very positive, and this is a very nice thing. Of course, I can’t wait to get on the track; the hunger for victory doesn’t change, even if I won’t be here in 2025.” – he continued – “I am really focused on this season and don’t want to think about what will happen afterward, about Lewis in the paddock. I don’t want these things to influence me. Concentration must remain at the maximum as it has always been.”
“I will definitely help Charles if he finds himself fighting for the championship. For this season, we will be teammates, and I will certainly do my best. I am sure he would do the same with me if I needed it; we respect each other, and it’s only fair that it should be so.” – Carlos Sainz concluded.
