Carlos Sainz reveals gap between best and worst F1 driver on the grid

In a recent interview for Italian daily general-interest newspaper ‘La Repubblica’, Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz addressed various topics for discussion. A pleasant chat in which, rather than talking about what is happening within the walls of Maranello, especially in regard to the highly anticipated project for the 2022 Formula 1 season, it was decided to approach more classic themes of common interest. For example, Carlos Sainz was asked about the differences between drivers and how the car can have an impact on the final race result.

“I believe that the performance gap between the best and the worst Formula 1 driver on the grid can be considered somehwere within half a second,” said Carlos Sainz Jr, thinking of his colleagues on the grid. “So, when we find ourselves dealing with gaps of more than one second, second and a half, it means that the performance of the car has also had its influence on the result. It is impossible to say who the strongest driver is until we all have the same car at our disposal. The single-seater certainly has a greater impact on the final results, this is the major problem of Formula 1 at this moment.” – Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz explained, as reported by La Repubblica earlier this week.
