Carlos Sainz on Ferrari contract renewal: “We will find a solution”. Carlos on Ferrari contract renewal.

Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz is not the type to smile often during the race weekend and once this is pointed out to him, the Spaniard explains: “The reason is because I am very focused. I am working and constantly thinking about how and where to improve. So that’s why you don’t often see me smiling in front of the cameras, I forget to do it. At 15, Red Bull decided to bet on me and gave me the opportunity to get to Formula 1. Once here, I had to take responsibility for realizing the work done by 600 people. This forces you to grow fast. You have to show that you can handle the pressure and that you can become a leader, otherwise you will never be able to achieve something great.” – Carlos said, as reported by the Italian media. This speaks volumes about the level of maturity reached by the Spaniard.

A maturity which can be seen not only on the track, but also (and perhaps even more commitment) through the use of social media: “I have almost reached 3 million followers on social media. This further charges me with responsibility. My behavior must be an example, especially for the youngest fans, so I have to try not to do stupid things. At the same time, however, I would like to be more relaxed and spend less time on my smartphone. But I think we all have a hard time disconnecting from the internet in this modern era”. – he added.

Last but not least, a question about the future. Carlos Sainz Jr signed a two-year contract with Scuderia Ferrari only last year. An agreement that will expire at the end of the 2022 Formula 1 season. Asked about the hopes of continuing alongside the Maranello team even after that date, the Spanish driver commented thoughtfully: “Only time will tell. If I continue to work as done up to now and improve myself, I am convinced that we will be able to find a solution that will make everyone happy.” – Carlos concluded.
