Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz is partially satisfied with the work he has done alongside the Maranello team in his first season with Ferrari, but at the same time Carlos highlight that for the Italian side a third or fourth place is not enough and that they will not be completely satisfied until they return to fight for the World Championship. It has been more than a decade since Ferrari’s last title in 2007 and every year it weighs more and more not to fight for the championship. Although Ferrari’s progress has been remarkable, Carlos recalls that it is not enough to fight for third or fourth place, because the goal is to win the title.
“Ferrari is not happy with third or fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship. Our goal is to win the world championship as soon as possible. Despite this, we keep our feet on the ground, being as realistic as possible and continuing to work in the best way. We need to improve the car more and more to win in the near future” – Carlos Sainz explained, in a recent interview for Sky F1.
And Carlos has become a foundation in this phase, as he will begin the new era in Formula One alongside the Maranello team next season. Scuderia Ferrari noticed his potential this Carlos proved to be one of the revelations of the 2019 and 2020 Formula 1 seasons with McLaren. Carlos believes that much of his progress is due to his father’s teachings, as the three-time Dakar winner taught him to be a team player:
“His guidance, his advice, his way of teaching me how to become not only a good driver but also a professional, a man who knows how to work in a team , how to ask the right questions, how to grow with the challenges that lie along the path, they were crucial to me. Without all this it would have been difficult to be in this position” – Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz concluded.
